Hopefully They Make the Right Choice Funny
Welcome to 2017. We are well underway now into the first week of the new year. It seems that 2016 just flew by. I'm sure there were a lot of ups and downs for all of us in 2016. 2016 took no prisoners. If you haven't done it already, it's time to say goodbye and let it go. You can't do anything about it. It's time to make the choice to move on.
December 31, some of us partied our way into the new year. Some of us stayed home and endured the entertainment of musical artists of today and yesterday. By the way, Pitbull had a pretty good New Years Eve show on Fox live from Miami, Florida. As the clock struck midnight, the music of Auld Lang Syne, which translates to "times gone by" starts to play, reminding us not to forget our friends. It also brings us hope of the new year ahead, while still struggling to forget the things of the past. Let me also that some of those folks may need to be forgotten. Just saying.
"No, this is not the beginning of a new chapter in my life; this is the beginning of a new book! That first book is already closed, ended, and tossed into the seas; this new book is newly opened, has just begun! Look, it is the first page! And it is a beautiful one!" ~ C. JoyBell C.
It's abrand new day. A brand new year. Hopefully, you have chosen to say goodbye to the things (and people) of the past. This brand new year brings us new opportunities, new dreams, and new goals to set.
It's time to press forward into this year with enormous hope and faith. Your dream life can be achieved. However, you have to be the one to do the work. Remember that the choice is yours. It's all about choices. Did you make the right choice?
I can admit that this past year made me want to quit the pursuit of my dream. Life took a lot out of me and I figured that something needed to be removed from my plate. I was involved in a lot of things that I had made commitments to. I believed that I needed to stick with those things before I continued with anything else. What I didn't realize that it was some of those commitments that I needed to let go of. They were not helping me. They were causing me pain, physically. I felt bad that I needed to let them go, but my dream (and my health) was much more important to me. If truth be told, I wasn't giving it all that I had.
"I guess it's going to have to hurt, I guess I'm going to have to cry, And let go of some things I've loved to get to the other side, I guess it's going to break me down, Like fallin when you try to fly, Sad but sometimes moving on with the rest of your life starts with goodbye."~ Carrie Underwood
It was then I made the choice to drop some of those activities and people so I can make room for the things that were important to me, most importantly my dream. I learned that we have to let go of the things and people that no longer serve us. If we don't, we're the ones that end up getting hurt. I speak from experience on this one.
It wasn't easy saying goodbye. Matter of fact, for a short time afterward, I questioned my decision to do so and wondered if I made the right choice. In the end, I did make the right choice. How do I know it was the best choice for me? I was uncomfortable. Sounds crazy, I know. To me, that was another sign showing me that when we step more into our purpose, it's not always going to be comfortable. It shouldn't. When we get comfortable, we get complacent. That's when we actually need to shake things up.
"Dreams don't work themselves. You have to make the choice to put in the work." ~ Hope S.
